I'm starting this blog because I'm very upset!
I met with a Brazilian friend at the Brasilia Restaurant in Newark today. My friend was telling me his latest news when his smile disappeared from his lips. "Oh no"- He said - "There goes the soccer game on TV!".
This young man had walked in and after setting up his pa system he started singing. The voice was ok, fairly in tune and with grace. The trouble was the sound level. I would have lowered it about 9 dbs (at least), it was that loud.
Everyone else that came afterward was as as loud or louder than him, and some really out of tune. Let's face it, I played in bands for two decades. I know what loudness is. I can put up with a certain amount of flatness in someone's voice. But excruciating flat loudness, that is totally out of question. It was horrible!
I told my friend that for as long as I could remember this event, I will would not return to Brasilia!
Am I the only one??????
